On our way to Ko Lanta

We had a wonderful last night at Baan Noppawong (no knocking neighbors in the middle of the night either). We got picked up by a taxi and had an easy ride to the airport. We had plenty of time to check in, actually we had to wait to check-in. At the gate first class passengers had their reserved seats and so did monks 🙂

The plane was not even half full and it was a quick and easy flight to Krabi. Our transfer driver had mixed up the terminals at the airport but after a few phone calls we were on our way. After a little while we had our first rain in Thailand, and damn it rained hard. According to the driver it will rain a little every day for a little while longer but will soon stop all together. While we waited for the ferry to take us over to Ko Lanta we could see how heavily it rained over the island and that rain soon hit us.
Finally we reached Golden Bay resort and we got a nice surprise when they told us that we had been upgraded from “Superior” to “Deluxe” without extra charge :-). It was a clean and nice place, nothing over the top but more than enough for us. After being spoiled with nice towel art on our bed we were a bit disappointed to find our towels simply folded with a couple of flowers on top… In our bathroom we found a funny picture which stated that you are not allowed to “stand” on the toilet while doing your business…
We did have a little problem with the air conn, well not a little problem really as it didn’t work at all… They did fix it rather quick though.
We managed to take a quick swim in both the pool and the ocean before we had a couple of nice drinks and a nice little dinner by the beach and watched a wonderful sunset.
