Arriving in Thailand

Finally on the ground again we got a priority lane ticket for the passport control which basically meant no queue and we could pick up our bags straight away. The public taxis at the airport have a great system where you pick up a slip with your taxi’s number and information how to file complaints etc. This means that you don’t have to haggle over the taximeter and that the taxi driver doesn’t drive too bad because else you’ll file a complaint. 45 minutes later we found ourselves more or less alone as the only tourists at Mo Chit bus terminal. It was no problem to find our ticket counter and to buy the tickets to Pak Chong. We had a quick lunch at one of the food courts at the bus station. It was quite good and we paid less than 2 euros for the both of us…

Our bus was quite OK although a bit old and the interior was “interesting”… The journey to Pak Chong took approx 3 hours and we didn’t have to wait long for our transfer to the hotel. The checking went smooth and after a quick shower and a change to our “functional clothes” we were ready for our half day tour of the Khao Yai National Park.
